How do we know this? How about 2% growth since 2008? Or that the film industry made 9 billion in 2007, 25 Billion world wide, that’s the GDP of Montana.

Just Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11193522028117638789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15503145.post-21818106671470065282009-11-10T13:39:43.611-08:002009-11-10T13:39:43.611-08:00Hi Scott,

The traditional unions got a motion passed through the provincial labour dept. and presented everyone in CG with a fait accompli - union productions will only work with union VFX shops. The weird aspects have been the lack of dialogue with people in CG, and the formulation of a rate structure out of whatever.Wadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01438974752018263182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15503145.post-7853409702178494272009-11-05T08:28:48.939-08:002009-11-05T08:28:48.939-08:00I'll write up a more detailed article at some ...I'll write up a more detailed article at some point but most VFX work is done as a fixed bid with adjustments as needed. If a bid is wrong or it costs the VXF company more money than planned they may lose money on the project Studios also tend to be veryScott Squireshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15920073387249178066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15503145.post-91933616080053003342009-11-03T13:17:31.760-08:002009-11-03T13:17:31.760-08:00Scott, I don't understand why the VFX houses w...Scott, I don't understand why the VFX houses would be underwater like that. Are they doing the work without getting paid upfront? Or is this because of capital equipment and technology upgrades or unbillable research?Timhttp://www.clerestory.comnoreply@blogger.com
